Adjunct for CEREC - Seeing is Believing!!!!
We all remember the day right? The first time we actually looked at anything in the mouth through loupes. My first thought was, “Holy Crap! What have I been doing to my patients teeth all of these years?” About twenty years ago I got my first (and only) set of loupes, a through the lens 2.5 power that made everything clear and simple when working in the mouth. Over the past six to nine months that has started to change. As I dive deeper into my forties, I have been noticing (among many other things) my vision starting to slide. The 2.5 power was now not so clear and I was left wondering where to go with my next set of loupes, 3, 4, 5, or even 7 power. How long until my next slip into a greater power IF I buy a weaker magnification than needed? Well, Orascoptic has the solution: the EYEZOOM Adjustable Magnification Loupe! Recently released, these loupes actually adjust to 3, 4, and 5 power using a twist mechanism on each lens. You can also order EYEZOOM with any of the Orascoptic LED light systems. At $2995, these will save almost $6000 if three sets were needed down the road! The Konica/ Minolta lenses are easy to adjust and care for, as well as surprisingly lightweight. Thank you Orascoptic! Possibly the best new technology in my office since Omnicam.
This sounds really good.I use a microscope for my cerec preps 7 to 8 power for finishing margins ect.I was looking at getting a second microscope but might get these instead.

Just hit the office Dan but are really smooth and easy to use....I am impressed so far. Go on the Oroscoptic site and find your rep for a demo....will save you a fortune over the scope and way easier to move around office...lol
Those look pretty awesome, but I'm curious how heavy they are. They look pretty bulky, is there any considerable increase in weight of the loupes in comparison to ones with a single magnification?
Derrik, they are maybe a little heavier....I have a set of 3x loupes that are about the same so I am used to them. They come with a nice adjustable strap which holds them on great. The nose piece is silicone so can stick a little...but all in all I love them! My thought is I would have gone to at least a 5x so they would have been heavy regardless.....hard getting old! LOL
