As anyone who practices today, adhesives and cements play a large part in dentistry. Dentists are bombarded with all sorts of advertisements concerning these materials. There can be confusion about what can be used when and why. At this year’s Scientific Symposium, Dr. Paul Child will help clear up any confusion with these materials in his presentation Bringing Science to the Art of CAD/CAM Dentistry: Adhesives, Cements & Bioactive Materials.

Dr. Child is a prosthodontist, certified dental technician and executive vice president of BISCO Dental Products. He is responsible for leading BISCO’s U.S. operations, conducting research, providing continuing education courses, and providing the company with clinical input for new product development. He maintains a research-based practice in the greater Chicago area, where he enjoys providing all aspects of dentistry, but primarily focuses on esthetics, implants, complex restorative, CAD/CAM, and all aspects of surgery.  He is the former CEO of CR Foundation (formerly CRA), where he lectured and conducted extensive research with Drs. Gordon and Rella Christensen. He lectures nationally and internationally on all areas of dentistry, with an emphasis on new and emerging technologies and materials. He maintains memberships in many professional associations and academies, and is on the editorial board of several journals.
