New Feature of inLab 4.2 Software
One of the new features of the inLab 4.2 software is called Multilayer Definition. What this allows you to do is create a multilayer bridge and decide what units you would like to be full contour and what units you would like to split into a framework and a veneering structure. In the past versions of the inLab software, you only had the option for full contour or full multilayer.
Why would you do this?
When considering bridges, you have to consider a lot of different variables. Some of them include the following:
- esthetics
- tooth height
- interocclusal distance
- parafunctional habits
Let's take the scenario where esthetics are important, but you don't have adequate tooth height to get connectors required for full contour e.max cad... and you don't want to reduce over 2mm for a CAD-ON technique. This is a scenerio where you could consider Multilayer definition and create the distal two teeth in zirconia connected to a zirconia frame on a bicuspid and then overlay the bicuspid in the smile zone with e.max CAD.
inLab software has always been about expanding the possibilities and inLab 4.2 is no different. Options for most every clinical situation.
