A Tip from one of our mentors on implants
Here is a great tip from cerecdoctors.com Mentor, Dr. Darin O'Bryan:
“So here is a little trick I do for soft-tissue modeling when doing an implant on a model in 4.0.
When take your images, take them for upper, lower and buccal bite without your gingival mask. Then place the gingival mask and take a Biocopy image. They will overlay and you can proceed forward to design.
Here is the crown on the model:
And here is the case of the Biocopy of the gingival mask in place:
The tissue was just like it showed in the mouth.
Here are images of the crown on the model and in the mouth. As you can see, we had a little bit of the abutment showing, but #30 not big deal and it was a little close to the nerve to bury it any further. The patient was happy with the result.
So with the added catalog you can make a Biocopy tissue model when working on models in the lab. This helps to get the emergence profile correct without having to over-bulk, and then shape with hand pieces.

Does the biocopy gingival mask influence the proposal, or give you a speckled pattern, to id interferences? This has been a tough area for me with my lab...don't want to push it down? Damn good course in Medford.
The biocopy of the gingiva is not taken into account for the restoration proposal. You can remove the abutment model and view just the gingival biocopy to see where you are pushing through.
